We are aware that we now live in a different world compared to 10-20 years ago (or even less). We are used to thinking that we have to get out the yellow pages and look up a business in our town and contact them when we need something done.

Now this is true, we do need to do this, especially when we need an electrician or a plumber. We could however get a book on how to do it yourself or go and do a night class, but we find it easier to call a professional and have them do it for us. This way of doing business is what makes our economy work and it is how most of us earn a living.

If you consider the electrician and plumber, buy hiring these people to do our work we are actually outsourcing our electrical and plumbing projects.

The different in this day is that we don’t just live in a neighborhood, town or city anymore; we are all now part of a global community. With high speed internet connections we can now contact people in any part of the world. If we need a project completed that comes in the form of a digital product e.g. Images, word files, websites, presentations, anything that can be distributed over the internet, then it doesn’t matter where our professionals live if we ask them to provide us with the product we require.

Another psychology we have is that these types of services are expensive, well, yes they can be. Back to the yellow pages, if we are looking for a company to build us a website or create a company logo we are going to be paying anything from $60 to $100 an hour, the later being most common. These aren’t the only people who can do these works for us.

The term freelancing has been around for a long time, now even that has taken on a new identity with the introduction of the internet. Before we go there though, even with the internet there are still online business asking high prices to perform these types of work. This is due to the fact that many established businesses with high overheads, like staff and business premises, the internet came second. Their websites are secondary to their business and are used more for advertizing.

Many developing countries in the word are churning out thousands of qualified students a year and there are many of these waiting for you to post your projects on freelancing websites, this way they can make their bids and whatever projects they win, they can earn a living from.

Working with these people you can make savings up to 70-80%, this enables anyone of us to actually enjoy owning products and getting professional help with anything we desire.
